Auditor
Duties
- Utilizes professional accounting and audit skills to maintain oversight for implementing appropriate laws, directives, and regulations of internal control programs and procedures.
- Applies Government Auditing Standards and a wide range of evaluation techniques (e.g., interviews, computer assisted techniques, statistical analysis and questionnaires) in gathering, documenting, and summarizing data.
- Prepares reports to present findings, identifies causative situations, and recommends corrective action.
- Utilizing professional accounting and auditing knowledge, provides recommendations in the solution of accounting and operational problems and implementation of new or changed regulations, procedures, and analyses of automated systems.
- Audits automated accounting and financial systems and identifies the need for changes to enhance system capability to track and report financial events and operational data used by management.
- Assist higher-grade auditor in the command with difficult problems, ensuring the proposed action conforms to existing accounting and auditing practices/guidelines.
- Prepares the overall command response to all external audit agency reports based upon input from proponent activities.

- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a
TOP SECRET
security clearance with Special Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Employee must pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodic drug screening tafter.

- This is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Appointment to this position does not confer competitive status.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by providing and conducting in-depth analysis with recommendations in the solutions of operational problems and implementation of new or changed regulations, procedures and analyses of automated systems internal controls; auditing automated internal in order to identify the need for changes to enhance system capability; and performing a variety of internal audit assignments of advanced complexity that require ingenuity in applying conventional and advanced techniques in gathering and evaluating pertinent data.
