Salary Range:
$145,000 - $185,000 per year Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Audit Manager to lead complex assurance engagements for our diverse client base in the Greater Baltimore area. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Non-Profit organizations and Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audits. You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the audit process, managing high-performing teams, and serving as a key advisor to executive leadership and boards of directors. Key Responsibilities
Engagement Leadership:
Direct end-to-end audit engagements, from pre-planning and risk assessment to final reporting.
Specialized Auditing:
Lead technical audits for Non-Profit entities and Employee Benefit Plans (including 401(k), 403(b), and union plans), ensuring strict compliance with ERISA and GAAP standards.
Team Management:
Supervise, coach, and mentor audit staff, conducting performance reviews and fostering professional development.
Stakeholder Advisory:
Present audit findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and audit committees.
Risk Mitigation:
Identify operational and financial risks, developing comprehensive testing methodologies to evaluate internal control adequacy. Required Qualifications
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA license is required.
Experience:
10+ years of progressive audit experience, preferably within a public accounting firm.
Industry Expertise:
Proven track record in Non-Profit auditing and Employee Benefit Plan compliance.
Leadership:
Minimum of 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Skills:
Expert knowledge of GAAP, ERISA, and internal control frameworks; proficiency in audit management software and data analytics tools.
