Job Description

Apply Weatherization Energy Auditor Waterville, ME Apply Job Type Full-time Description The Weatherization Energy Auditor is responsible for assessing clients' housing needs. This position estimates and oversees work for HEAP/Weatherization, DOE and other associated Energy and Housing Programs, and provides client education about energy conservation and other housing-related issues. As an Energy Auditor and/or Quality Control Inspector for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), you will be responsible for conducting energy audits of residential buildings to identify energy-saving opportunities. You will use specialized equipment and advanced diagnostic test to measure energy use, assess building envelope and HVAC systems, and provide recommendations for improvements. In this position you will work closely with clients to explain findings, recommend measures, and develop a plan for implementing energy-saving improvements. You'll help reduce household energy costs while making homes more comfortable and sustainable.

Requirements Your responsibilities include:
Maintain mutually beneficial relationships and effective communication with customers, crew members, and program staff. Ensure that all work is completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Collaborate with program staff to identify areas for enhancement in any processes or procedures. Adhere to federal, state, and local program rules and requirements. Educate clients on energy-saving techniques and best practices. Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation. At least five years related work experience and/or equivalent training in the housing and energy related field. Working knowledge of residential carpentry, energy conservation, weatherization techniques, local and state building codes, heating systems and rehab techniques, preferably with hands on experience. Associates Degree and five years' related work experience and/or equivalent training in the housing and energy related field. Must be able to meet agency requirements for background checks. Ability to pass SBI, DMV, DHHS, fraud and Sex Offender Registry background checks. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. Ability to lift and carry 65 lb. blower door. Must have clarity of vision of twenty inches or less for computer use. Salary Description $20.00 -$25.00 Apply View All Jobs
