Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the Internal Auditor position is to provide independent, objective assurance that the credit union's operations are effectively controlled, compliant, and aligned with established policies and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for conducting audits across all functional areas of the credit union to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, operational processes, and risk-management practices. The Internal Auditor applies a systematic and disciplined approach to assess and monitor the credit union's systems of internal control, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to policies and procedures. The position verifies the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information, tests compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and identifies opportunities to strengthen processes. Through comprehensive audit activities, the Internal Auditor supports the credit union's commitment to sound governance, operational excellence, and the safeguarding of member assets.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (BA) in a relevant field is required.

Experience:

Three to five years' experience in internal audit, quality assurance, compliance, risk management, or financial institution operations to include a combination thereof.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of loan process and lending operations Ability to work independently Ability to professionally interact with credit union staff, volunteers, and external auditors/examiners Maintain high degree of confidentiality in dealing with member information and loan requests Attention to detail Excellent organizational and planning skills Advanced computer skills in MS Office Knowledge of credit union and/or financial institution operations •Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
