We're seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Credentialist II to join our Medical Staff Services team. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding patient safety, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the integrity of our Medical Staff operations. What You'll Do As a Credentialist II, you will manage the full lifecycle of medical staff credentialing activities, including: Credentialing & Compliance Perform all phases of credentialing for initial appointments and reappointments Verify licensure, BNDD, DEA, privileges, OPPE, FPPE, PI data, and other regulatory requirements Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Credentialing Plan, policies, and accrediting bodies Prepare files for audits (TJC, CMS, NCQA) and conduct compliance reviews Maintain and audit credentialing files (electronic and paper) Database & Reporting Maintain accuracy in the CACTUS database Track credentialing activities through logs and reporting tools Generate rosters, reports, queries, and credentialing documentation as needed Committee & Administrative Support Prepare application packets and credentialing correspondence Support Credentials Committee preparation and documentation Record, transcribe, and maintain Medical Staff meeting minutes as needed Assist with temporary privileges and affiliation verifications Provide administrative support to ensure smooth department operations Collaboration & Professionalism Build strong working relationships with physicians, department leaders, managed care staff, and administrative teams Promote quality improvement, patient safety, and cultural diversity Maintain current knowledge of applicable statutes, regulations, and compliance standards What You Bring Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of experience in: Medical staff credentialing OR managed care credentialing OR an academic medical center working with physicians and administrative processes Strong computer proficiency and database experience Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities Experience taking minutes and supporting committees Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with physicians and leadership Ability to exercise independent judgment and diligence in credentialing activities Preferred Medical center credentialing experience in a hospital setting Working at University Health is about making a difference.
