Job Description:
Mid-size CPA firm located in Cranford, NJ is seeking experienced senior level assurance staff. Audit experience involving closely held corporations, publicly traded companies, and employee benefit plans (ERISA), are a plus.
Core Responsibilities Audit Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement comprehensive audit plans, programs, and risk assessments to evaluate financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies, while identifying and mitigating financial risks.
Reporting & Communication:
Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management, the audit committee, or clients.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for efficiency improvements and suggest best practices to strengthen internal controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certification:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
Experience:
Several years of progressive auditing experience, often with prior supervisory experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems (e.g., Right Works), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Common Performance Indicators Completing audits on time and within budget. Accuracy of financial reporting and risk detection. Quality of recommendations to improve internal controls.
