Staff Auditor Location:

Melville, NY or Iselin, NJ (On-site 3-4 days/week)

Who We're Looking For:

This is a great opportunity for someone currently in a Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firm who wants more visibility, a better work-life balance post-busy season, and room to grow in a specialized financial services firm.

Responsibilities:

Staff Auditor:

Assist in audits of financial institutions and related entities Perform substantive audit testing and document findings Collaborate with seniors and managers to execute audit plans Engage with clients as needed, particularly during busy season

Qualifications:

Required for

Both Roles:

At least 3 busy seasons of public accounting audit experience Strong understanding of audit methodology Excellent communication and organizational skills Willingness to work on-site in Walnut Creek 3-4 days/week Ambition to pursue a CPA license (if not already licensed) Preferred (not required): Experience with financial services clients (mortgage banking, private debt funds, etc.) ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) experience — this is a big plus CPA license or parts passed for senior-level

Work Schedule:

Heavy hours during Q1 (Jan-April), lighter in summer

Travel:

Minimal — 3-5 times/year, mostly local; Q1 concentrated
