The Principal Internal Auditor plays a crucial role in the company performing and assisting in the planning and execution of non-gaming operational audits. This individual will regularly interact with staff and management across a wide array of different departments to observe and digest processes, and recommend opportunities for improvement. The position reports directly to the Director of Casino Finance with a dotted line to the Board of Directors. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters team work and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldExperience:
Two or more years Internal Audit experienceSkills:
Professional level report writing skills Professional skepticism and the ability to maintain independence, while cultivating a positive relationship with property management Attention to detail and the ability to analyze data and identify trends or outliers Effective communication skills Intermediate skill level inMicrosoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Required:
Working knowledge of IPPF /Global Internal Audit Standards Preferred:
CIA certification Working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS Required Work Cards needed:Nevada Gaming License Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: Performance of non-gaming operational audits of business processes Assist in examining and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls Identify and document business processes and controls in accordance with established department standards Assist in presenting verbal and written results of audit activities to various levels of management and the Board of Directors Contribute to and maintain a strong relationship with property management and staff The above statements represent a general outline of principal job functions and should not be construed as a complete description of all aspects and requirements required for this job.Essential Job Functions:

When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer. Interacts with management, applicants, fellow Associates and/or guests. Ability to communicate effectively written and verbally. Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, and maneuver on general computer programs. Requires strong time management and the ability multi task. Requires use of standard office equipment. Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility. Requires bending and reaching. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking Requires eye/hand coordination. Requires strong math skills. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS) and other instructions.
