is announcing an opening for the Internal Auditor role within our service. The Internal Auditor is responsible for maintaining, checking and auditing budgetary records, and for the preparation of financial reports. Work is performed under direct supervision with moderate leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment following professional accounting procedures. Good knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and terminology is required; the ability to interpret laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the preparation of financial reports is also required. The position is also responsible for evaluating the reliability and integrity of information generated for financial reporting; reviewing compliance with policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations for the purpose of reporting results and making recommendations to management of the schools and the governing Boards; it also participates in process and internal control improvement initiatives; it is expected that the work would be performed with considerable independence of action with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment within established policy, subject to final approval by a higher level. Supervision is not a regular responsibility of this position. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and less than one year of accounting experience OR , B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration, or related field with a minimum of 18 semester credit hours in accounting plus 2 years of experience in accounting OR , C) An equivalent combination of training experience as defined by the limit of (A), (B), above. Columbia County Civil Service residency requirements will apply (must be a resident of Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia, Greene, Ulster or Dutchess County at time of hire). Questar
