Job Description
The Teachers' Retirement System (TRS), a large public pension fund located in the financial district in NYC seeks an intern who will work in the Internal Audit Department for a 10 week summer internship program. Our intern program provides students with an opportunity to learn about the Internal Audit function at TRS.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Internal Audit colleagues to understand the Internal Audit processes, IIA Standards, business risks and continuously improve the department and achieve department goals;
- Contribute ideas to continuously improve audit methodology and procedures, including the usage of data analysis/technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit procedures and increase value to the stakeholders;
- Shadow and assist auditors within the Internal Audit Department; and
- Participate in other internal audit assignments as needed.
SUMMER COLLEGE INTERN
- 10234 Minimum Qualifications As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE:
Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June- August each year.
Succeed:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to identify, learn, understand, and implement new concepts and frameworks
- Proficient with
Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Additional Requirements:
- Must have a working desktop/laptop with updated anti-virus & internet security software
- Must have either a smart phone with a working camera or webcam on desktop/laptop
- Must have access to a reliable internet connection
- Quiet working area away from distractions Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
