Job Description:
Senior Auditor About the Role Mellott & Mellott is seeking a Senior Auditor to lead audit engagements, supervise junior staff, and support clients across a variety of industries including closely held businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals. This role is ideal for an experienced public accounting professional looking to grow within a collaborative and relationship-driven CPA firm. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute assigned audit areas in accordance with firm methodology and professional standards Review audit workpapers prepared by staff and interns for accuracy and completeness Supervise, mentor, and develop junior audit team members Identify audit issues, perform analysis, and recommend solutions Communicate engagement progress, risks, and findings to audit management Coordinate client requests, walkthroughs, and engagement timelines Ensure compliance with GAAP and auditing standards Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure Public accounting audit experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards Experience leading audit areas and supervising staff Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software Preferred Experience with mid-market or public company clients Experience with revenue recognition, leases, equity, and other complex accounting areas Work Environment On-site role Up to 30% travel to client locations Professional office environment Why Join Mellott & Mellott Flexible scheduling and work-life balance outside busy season 37.5-hour workweek outside peak periods Ability to bank additional busy season hours for future time off Competitive compensation and benefits package Health insurance and 401(k) match Paid holidays and PTO Collaborative, team-oriented culture Direct exposure to leadership and advancement opportunities Monthly team events and strong employee retention About Mellott & Mellott Mellott & Mellott is a respected CPA and advisory firm serving closely held businesses, nonprofit organizations, and high-net-worth individuals throughout the Tri-State region for more than 70 years.
