Job Description

Responsibilities The Auditor position evaluates the business practices of the Credit Union in the areas of financial reporting, corporate governance, corporate controls, and risk management. This position evaluates and improves the system of internal controls and assesses the degree of compliance with laws and regulations. The major responsibilities include but are not limited to: conducting audit tests, including through the use of data mining tools, and participating in the creation of audit programs through research and performing functional walkthroughs to identify control points. The role will perform operational, financial, and compliance audits through analysis of internal controls as well as develop and update audit programs for functional areas. In addition, the Auditor will prepare work papers, draft audit findings and reports, and assist in communicating audit findings. The role will also research regulatory issues to determine impact on current audit processes. Finally, the role will assist with investigating fraud and member complaint investigations. The Auditor must obtain a minimum of 40 hours of professional education annually and develop a plan to achieve the Certified Internal Auditor designation within two years of hire. The Auditor is also expected to participate and/or join professional audit and credit union industry groups. SKILLS

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
  • Ability to sit for extended time periods
  • Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel

This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location.
