Job Description

When turnover sits below 1 percent, it usually tells you something about how people are treated once they arrive. This is a Top 100 public accounting firm with the scale, technical depth, and client exposure you would expect from a much larger environment, but with partners who stay visible and involved in the work. Teams are stable. Careers tend to be long term rather than transitional. As an Audit Manager, you'll lead engagements across a genuinely varied middle market portfolio. Clients span architecture and engineering, construction, manufacturing and distribution, real estate, private equity, technology, not for profit, healthcare, transportation and logistics, retail, law firms, asset management, family offices and more. It keeps the work interesting and avoids being boxed into one niche unless that is something you want. The firm hires with succession in mind. If partnership is part of your thinking longer term, that conversation starts early rather than years down the line. What the role looks like Leading audit engagements from planning through completion Managing multiple client relationships across middle market businesses Reviewing work prepared by seniors and associates Supporting staff development and mentoring future leaders Working closely with partners on technical matters and client strategy Contributing to engagement planning and firm initiatives What they're looking for CPA required Strong public accounting audit experience at Manager level or ready for the step up Confidence managing engagements across multiple clients Someone who enjoys developing staff and building client relationships Interest in progressing into senior leadership over time Why people move here Broad industry exposure without being siloed Clear progression toward senior leadership and ownership Formal mentorship from senior leaders through Director level and beyond At least 40 hours of CPE each year CPA exam support and reimbursement Tuition support for approved postgraduate study Professional membership reimbursement Firm wide trips and regular team events throughout the year Leadership team with long tenure and strong technical involvement Growth here has been steady and intentional, with decisions made for the long term rather than short term expansion targets. If you are just browsing the job boards and have not dusted off that resume yet, that is not a problem, you can give me a call first. You will find my number on LinkedIn. Search Lucy Weibel at Distinct North America. If you prefer, you can drop me a connection or message on LinkedIn and we can pick up on there. If you have reviewed this advert and you are unsure whether to apply because you do not have all the required experience, we still encourage you to hit that apply button. We support the CPA firms we partner with in building diverse, inclusive and equitable workplaces, so even if your experience does not align perfectly, please do still apply. If this position is not quite right, it is highly likely we will have other public accounting positions that could be a good fit for you.
