  • 6-5-26 Job Description The Internal Audit of the Utah Department of Natural Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Internal Auditor to join our team.
The Internal Auditor will be responsible for working as part of a team and as a project lead to assess and make recommendations to improve our organization's internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. Key Responsibilities Perform audit work and other duties as assigned by the Internal Audit Director to improve DNR's operations, reporting, and compliance. Work independently and as part of a team to conduct assurance, advisory, and consulting audit engagements. Comply with Global Internal Audit Standards and ethical practices of internal auditing. Write workpapers, reports, and communication to support and communicate conclusions. Qualifications Minimums Bachelor's degree in a business field or field related to the responsibilities of the DNR, or equivalent experience. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team and independently. Proficiency with the Global Internal Audit Standards. Senior internal audit proficiency. Experience leading audit engagements. Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications Master's degree in a business field or field related to the responsibilities of the DNR, or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications (CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA, CFE) with special preference for the CIA, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of SQL, R or other data analytics programming language. Internal audit experience. Familiarity with data analytics. Public sector work experience. Proficiency with the Global Internal Audit Standards (Standards). Experience leading audit engagements.
