By joining DIR, you will be an integral part of transforming how technology serves Texans. Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Internal Audit Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform complex (journey-level) clerical work and auditing assignments under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to develop their skills in the field of internal audit while contributing to the success of our agency. Responsibilities include reviewing policies and procedures, preparing documentation, assisting in audit reporting, and supporting corrective action recommendations. The Internal Audit Intern will also participate in client interviews, perform statistical sampling of data, and assist with post-audit assessments as required. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or current students looking to gain practical experience in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Reviews policies, procedures and work of others to identify areas of opportunities.
  • Prepares working papers to document the results of the work performed, including interviews, data analysis, and other documentation.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing audit reports of findings, outlines discrepancies.
  • Assists with corrective action recommendations.
  • Assists in scheduling and conducting client interviews.
  • May perform statistical sampling of data.
  • May assist in performing post-audit assessments.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education
  • A recent graduate, or a student currently enrolled in a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate with a major or course work in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field is generally preferred .
  • Must possess academic performance that is considered in good academic standing by college/university standards (High School diploma required). Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities We are interested in students with skills in the following:
