Our vision is to build a better broadband future for rural America. Join Our Team as an Internal Auditor Are you passionate about solving problems, improving processes and helping teams work better? NTCA is looking for an Internal Auditor to join our dedicated team in beautiful Asheville, NC. We're looking for someone who brings strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people. In this role, you'll make a meaningful impact by strengthening our internal controls, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the governance that guides our organization. What You'll Do Audit & Process Review Review transactions and processes to ensure accuracy and consistency. Analyze payroll records and member data to identify discrepancies or improvement opportunities. Conduct focused audits based on trends, risks, or organizational needs. Collaboration & Communication Share audit results with department managers and senior staff in a constructive, solutions oriented way. Help resolve issues and build stronger internal processes. Partner with external auditors by preparing documentation and responding to questions. Regulatory Reporting & Learning Assist with preparing federal filings, including IRS Form 5500s (training provided). Learn and apply relevant regulations over time (GAAP, DOL, PBGC, IRS). Gain hands on exposure to specialized retirement and health plan operations. What You Bring We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Ideal candidates will have:
Required Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in auditing, accounting, operations, data analysis, or a similar discipline. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to learn new concepts and regulations quickly. Nice to Have (But Not Required) Experience with employee benefit plans. CEBS or another professional designation.
