Full Job Description Senior Operational Auditor Location :
Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid), 20% Travel A growing, global industrial services organization is seeking a Senior Operational Auditor to join its Internal Audit team. This role offers a unique opportunity to move beyond traditional audit work and play a critical part in ensuring that operational execution aligns with customer agreements across manufacturing sites. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys connecting the dots between contracts, financial performance, and operations.
Position Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret customer contracts to define scope, deliverables, and performance requirements Translate contract terms into clear operational expectations and measurable audit criteria Conduct operational audits to assess whether plant-level execution aligns with contractual obligations Perform site visits to manufacturing facilities to observe operations and validate compliance Partner with operations, finance, and leadership teams to identify gaps and drive improvements Evaluate risks related to operational performance, cost structure, and contract execution Identify opportunities to improve cash flow, reduce costs, and strengthen processes Prepare clear, actionable audit findings and present recommendations to leadership Contribute to the evolution of audit practices with a stronger focus on operational effectiveness
Position Requirements/Desired Experience:
3+ years of experience in internal audit, operational audit, accounting, or manufacturing finance Strong ability to interpret contracts and connect them to financial and operational outcomes Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments preferred Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Effective communicator comfortable working across plant operations and corporate teams Proficiency in Excel and ERP/reporting tools (experience with systems like D365 or similar is a plus) Bachelor's degree required; CPA, CIA, or similar certifications are a plus
