Job DescriptionJob Description Lindsey Management Co., Inc. is hiring for an Internal Auditor! We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our Corporate team at Lindsey Management Co., Inc. Lindsey Management Co., Inc. (LMI), based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, began operations in 1985. Since then, our company has grown to become the largest property management firm of multi-family housing in the state of Arkansas and is making a strong presence in the states of Alabama, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Oklahoma. We manage over 40,000 apartment homes in over 160 apartment communities as well as 42 golf courses located throughout Arkansas and the Midsouth. Position Overview The Internal Auditor is responsible for planning and executing audit engagements across the portfolio of apartment communities and golf course properties managed by Lindsey Management Co., Inc. This role requires significant travel and a high degree of independence, professionalism, and sound judgment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; or 2-4 years of equivalent auditing or accounting experience. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate risks, and recommend practical solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with audit or property management software a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly to management. Highly organized with strong time management and self-direction abilities. Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle; ability to travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays. Key Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and conduct audit engagements at apartment and golf course properties across the portfolio. Develop and continuously improve audit programs to reflect current risks and operational changes. Execute audit fieldwork in accordance with established audit programs and professional standards. Document findings thoroughly and communicate results - both verbally and in written reports - to management. Coordinate with management to evaluate responses to audit findings and track corrective actions. Train on-site managers on proper documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance procedures. Complete and submit the Audit Time Log to the supervisor by noon each Monday. Check in with the supervisor daily via phone or email while in the field. Support special projects and additional assignments as needed. Scheduling & Travel Expectations Effective scheduling is a core competency of this role. The auditor is expected to plan travel efficiently by: Grouping multiple out-of-town properties into single audit trips wherever possible. Treating any property outside the NWA or Fort Smith areas as an overnight trip. Scheduling local (NWA/Fort Smith) audits to begin at 9:00 a.m. Maximizing time at smaller or closer properties by arriving as early as possible to complete audits in a single day when feasible. Schedule:
Standard work hours are 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. when on-site at a property, or 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. when working from the Fayetteville office. Remote work is not permitted unless approved in advance by the supervisor on a case-by-case basis.
