We are seeking an Assurance Associate who will assist in planning and preparing audit workpapers, performing financial analysis, identifying client issues, and offering value-added recommendations. This role offers strong opportunities for technical growth, hands-on client interaction, and advancement within the assurance practice.Essential Functions:
- Prepare for audits, including trial balance and lead sheet setup, creating schedules, analyzing spreadsheets, and verifying accuracy of client accounting records.
- Maintain financial updates and gain an understanding of client business operations.
- Meet budget and realization goals and support staff in meeting theirs.
- Identify client issues and clarify service responsibilities during engagements.
- Participate in staff and intern recruiting activities.
- Monitor professional developments and research technical accounting issues.
- Identify and communicate problem areas and propose solutions to managers and partners.
- Offer value-added suggestions during audits and reviews.
- Meet assigned chargeable hour goals.
- Participate in internal training as appropriate.
- Work toward completing the CPA exam if not already achieved.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA license strongly preferred.
- Two to five years of public accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting procedures and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
