Position Overview:
The Audit Senior Manager leads audit engagements from planning through completion while supervising, training, and motivating audit teams. This role involves evaluating processes, resolving complex issues, managing client relationships, monitoring engagement budgets, and supporting business development initiatives. The position plays a key part in performance management and staff development across the audit department.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client's business and communicate engagement economics clearly.
  • Own and monitor client relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and motivate staff through clear communication and leadership.
  • Provide regular updates to clients and shareholders on engagement progress, issues, and resolutions.
  • Identify complex issues and propose creative, effective solutions.
  • Lead all phases of client engagements while managing multiple audit projects simultaneously.
  • Monitor budgets and billing by reviewing reports and communicating findings accurately.
  • Delegate and review audit assignments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support business development by identifying revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Participate in performance management, including evaluating readiness for promotion.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to the audit team.
  • Review team qualifications and ensure assignments align with skills and experience.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of recent audit experience in public accounting.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Proven success in developing or expanding client service opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and leading audit professionals.
