Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as a Body Shop Estimator, where your expertise will drive customer satisfaction and streamline repair processes. In this energetic role, you will be the vital link between customers, insurance companies, and our skilled technicians. Your keen eye for detail, collision knowledge, and exceptional customer service skills will ensure accurate damage assessments and efficient repair planning. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of automotive repair, utilizing your dealership experience and auto estimating skills to deliver top-tier service and support. Duties Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess collision damage, body issues, and necessary repairs, including auto body work, transmissions, suspension, and more. Prepare detailed, accurate repair estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring all repair needs—from oil changes and tire services to diesel engine repairs—are accounted for. Communicate clearly with customers, explaining repair procedures, costs, and timelines to foster trust and satisfaction. Collaborate with insurance adjusters and manage all service writing, ensuring proper documentation and transparency throughout the repair process. Coordinate with technicians and parts departments to prioritize repairs, schedule work, and ensure timely completion. Upsell additional services such as alignments, shocks & struts, brake repairs, and air brake systems to maximize shop productivity and customer value. Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately, maintaining integrity and professionalism at all times. Maintain detailed records of all estimates, repairs, and customer interactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. Stay informed about the latest automotive repair techniques, including automotive diagnostics, collision knowledge, and updates on vehicle maintenance procedures. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, managing expectations, and ensuring a positive experience from initial estimate to vehicle delivery. Skills Proven collision estimating experience and auto service management background, with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes. Collision repair knowledge across a broad range of systems including body, paint, transmissions, suspension, tire service, shocks & struts, brake repair, and diesel engine repair. Familiarity with automotive repair shop operations, including vehicle maintenance, auto body repair, and alignment procedures. Experience in upselling services such as wheel alignments, suspension work, and tire services to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate complex repair information clearly and professionally. Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately, maintaining integrity and confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple estimates and repair orders efficiently. Knowledge of automotive service management software and industry best practices. Valid collision estimating experience or service technician background is a plus, providing a deeper understanding of repair processes. Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, insurance adjusters, and customers to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service.
