In this energetic role, you will conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to verify they meet all state safety standards. Your expertise will help keep drivers safe, uphold automotive regulations, and support the integrity of vehicle maintenance and repair services. Duties Perform comprehensive safety inspections on a wide range of vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles, ensuring compliance with Maryland state regulations. Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to assess vehicle condition and identify necessary repairs or adjustments. Conduct vehicle maintenance checks, including brake systems, lighting, emissions, tires, suspension, and other critical components. Document inspection results accurately and prepare detailed reports for customers or regulatory agencies. Assist with auto body repair assessments and auto restoration projects when needed. Lift heavy parts or equipment safely during inspection or repair processes to ensure thorough evaluations. Collaborate with automotive service technicians to communicate inspection findings and support vehicle repairs or maintenance plans. Experience Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or auto body work. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and automotive service standards. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment in a professional setting. Prior mechanic experience is highly desirable to ensure accurate inspections and assessments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during inspection or repair tasks. Knowledge of auto restoration techniques or auto body repair processes is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records of inspections.
