Job Description Responsible for creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. National General is seeking an Auto Field Damage Appraiser to join our Claims team, supporting the Jacksonville, NC territory. This is a remote, field-based role that manages auto claims both virtually and on-site. The ideal candidate will be based in North Carolina, preferably in or near Jacksonville, New Bern, Havelock, or surrounding areas. Candidates for this role bring experience handling a variety of auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and utilizing CCC ONE estimating software to produce accurate damage estimates. This role works closely with repair facilities and customers to ensure timely, fair, and thorough claim resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates sound estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses
- Demonstrates basic understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within authority limits
- Applies sound understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Builds functional relationships with both internal and external customers Candidate should be located in Onslow/Craven County NC Supervisory Responsibilities
