This individual will be responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of insurance claims handling, from initial inspection through final settlement. The ideal candidate has deep experience in property insurance, restoration estimating, and claims negotiations, along with the ability to write accurate, detailed estimates that truly reflect site conditions and scope of work. We are looking for someone who understands the insurance industry inside and out, can confidently overcome carrier objections, and thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment. Duties Manage claims from initial inspection through final settlement, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution throughout the process. Perform detailed property inspections for water, fire, storm, wind, biohazard, and other property damage claims. Safely access and inspect roofs and other elevated areas when necessary. Prepare comprehensive and accurate estimates using Xactimate and other industry-standard software. Review, prepare, submit, and negotiate supplements with carriers while providing proper documentation and justification for revisions. Handle carrier objections professionally and effectively while advocating for proper claim scope and settlement. Obtain ITEL and NTS samples as needed for material and pricing verification. Utilize platforms such as Xactimate, Symbility, DocuSketch, and CompanyCam to maintain organized project documentation and digital records. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and avoid reliance on templated or copy-and-paste estimating practices. Communicate professionally with adjusters, clients, vendors, and internal team members throughout the claims process. Assist in developing and improving internal claims and estimating processes as the company continues to grow. Requirements Extensive experience in property insurance adjusting, restoration estimating, or claims management. Deep understanding of insurance claims handling, carrier negotiation strategies, supplements, and restoration scope development. Advanced proficiency in Xactimate required; Level 2 Certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Proficiency in estimating and documentation software, including Xactimate, Symbility, DocuSketch, CompanyCam, and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to write thorough, defensible estimates from scratch that accurately reflect actual site conditions. Comfortable performing physical inspections in a variety of environments, including climbing ladders and walking roofs safely. Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills. High level of self-motivation, accountability, and problem-solving ability. Ability to manage multiple claims, deadlines, and priorities independently. Reliable transportation capable of carrying ladders and inspection equipment. Willingness to travel throughout Ohio as needed. Occasional travel to Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee may occur following major storm events or catastrophic losses. No deployment travel required.
