In this vital role, you will conduct thorough inspections of automobiles, assess mechanical and structural integrity, and verify adherence to state regulations. Your expertise will help maintain high standards across the automotive industry, supporting safety initiatives and vehicle restoration projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive systems and committed to excellence in vehicle inspection. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections of vehicles to evaluate mechanical condition, safety features, and compliance with state regulations Use hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to assess vehicle components and identify issues Document inspection findings clearly and accurately in detailed reports for regulatory review or repair planning Assist in auto body assessments and determine necessary repairs or restorations Conduct heavy lifting as needed to access or move vehicle parts during inspections Collaborate with automotive service teams to communicate inspection results and recommend corrective actions Maintain a thorough understanding of current automotive repair standards, auto restoration techniques, and state inspection requirements Requirements Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or auto body work Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment Prior experience in vehicle maintenance, auto restoration, or mechanic roles is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during vehicle inspections or repairs Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical components Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; relevant certifications in auto repair or inspection are a plus Join us as a State Auto Inspector and play a crucial role in safeguarding our roads through meticulous vehicle evaluations.
