Position Summary The Branch Manager serves as the operational and cultural leader of the branch. Setting the tone for service, growth, teamwork, and member trust. This role is both a people leader and member advocate, responsible for creating a high-performing branch culture focused on service excellence, relationship growth, operational integrity, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop branch staff to deliver excellent member service for incoming calls and walk-in traffic.
- Create a positive, accountable, and member-focused branch culture.
- Drive execution and follow-through on branch priorities and operational initiatives.
- Effectively delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability and service standards.
- Conduct regular coaching, performance discussions, and employee development planning.
- Ensure staff are trained in products, systems, compliance, and digital banking solutions. Member Experience & Relationship Growth
- Identify opportunities to deepen member relationships through loans, deposits, cards, and digital banking tools that improve convenience and financial wellness.
- Educate members on products that support financial wellness and stability.
- Resolve escalated member concerns professionally and promptly. Branch Operations & Risk Management
- Oversee branch operations, including balancing, cash controls, security, and audit readiness.
- Ensure compliance with BSA, OFAC, fraud prevention, privacy, and all applicable regulations.
- Monitor branch reports, operational trends, and risk indicators.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues and inefficiencies. Sales, Service & Performance Management
- Support a culture where service, education, and relationship-building drive sustainable growth.
- Use reporting and observations to improve team performance and member experience.
- Promote a consultative, relationship-based service culture rather than a transactional environment. Community & Business Development
- Represent
SMW 104 FCU
professionally within the community and union partnerships.
- Support membership outreach, financial literacy, and member engagement initiatives.
- Help strengthen the credit union's reputation as a trusted financial partner for union workers and families. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of banking, credit union, or financial services experience.
- 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports.
- Proven ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, adaptability, and high performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a member-focused sales & service culture, driving measurable growth through coaching, accountability, disciplined execution, and taking ownership of performance outcomes
- Ability to analyze performance, identify strengths and opportunities, and execute action plans that enable the team to achieve business objectives.
- Exercise independent judgment and critical thinking skills to manage time, prioritize, and delegate tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for community-based financial services and member advocacy.
