Santee, CA Position Summary The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and financial results of the landscaping branch. This role oversees landscape maintenance, enhancements, irrigation, arbor, and support teams (as applicable) and ensures safe, high-quality service delivery, strong client relationships, profitable operations, and regulatory compliance. The Branch Manager provides strategic direction while maintaining hands-on leadership to drive production efficiency, employee engagement, client satisfaction, and revenue growth. Key Responsibilities Branch Operations & Financial Management Own branch P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor control, and cost management Monitor and improve key performance metrics (gross margin, labor productivity, safety, quality, retention) Ensure accurate job costing, margin performance, and operational controls Partner with finance and regional leadership on financial reporting and corrective actions Leadership & Team Development Lead, hire, train, coach, and develop department managers, supervisors, foremen, and administrative staff Set clear expectations, performance goals, and accountability across the branch Conduct performance reviews and support corrective action, discipline, and terminations as needed Foster a culture of safety, respect, accountability, and continuous improvement Client Relations & Business Development Maintain strong relationships with key clients and property stakeholders Support client retention, renewals, contract adjustments, and service issue resolution Partner with sales and account management teams to support growth, enhancements, and new opportunities Participate in client meetings, site walks, and proposal review as needed Production, Quality & Safety Oversee daily operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to contract specifications Ensure compliance with company policies and California labor, wage/hour, and safety regulations (OSHA, Cal/OSHA) Champion safety programs, training, and incident prevention across all departments Conduct regular field and operational reviews to ensure quality standards are met Compliance & Administration Ensure branch compliance with employment laws, company SOPs, and audit-ready documentation practices Manage fleet, equipment, and facility needs in coordination with support teams Support HR processes including onboarding, leave administration, and performance documentation Ensure proper permits, certifications, and licenses are maintained Qualifications Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in commercial landscaping operations 3+ years in a branch-level or senior operations leadership role preferred Proven experience managing P&L, labor budgets, and operational metrics Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Knowledge of California employment, wage/hour, and safety requirements Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Preferred Experience & Certifications Landscape Industry Certified (LIC), ISA, or related certifications Experience with landscape enhancement, irrigation, and arbor operations Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Proficiency with landscape operations software and Microsoft Office Physical & Work Environment Combination of office and field work at commercial landscaping sites Exposure to outdoor conditions; ability to walk sites and observe operations Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds Travel between branch locations and job sites requiredCompensation:
