The Branch Manager is responsible for the oversight of branch operations and staff; daily leadership; and interpreting the Library's policies and procedures. This position leads or oversees all branch initiatives and is also responsible for assigning work; building community partnerships; determining staffing; and the training and development of all staff. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hires, supervises, directs, coaches, trains, mentors, and manages performance of employees to organizational goals and expectations. Adds value as a key member of management; understands the organization, financials, industry, customers, and strategy. Manages assigned budgets and resources effectively and efficiently; knows and understands organization's financial position. Manages vendors and outside service providers effectively; sets expectations and holds them accountable, as required. Plans workflow for staff, including scheduling and staffing for effective in-person public service. Leads and oversees branch services, including planning and conducting programs, maintaining branch collections, and outreach to community partners. Monitors physical location and initiates maintenance and repairs, as necessary. Performs reference and readers' advisory in person, by telephone, and by e-mail Assists customers with various technologies. Assists customers with resumes, job searches, internet use, and basic computer usage. Interprets the Library's policies and procedures to the public in a customer-friendly manner. Addresses and resolves customer issues and concerns. Circulates materials to customers, including checking materials in and out, processing holds, registering customers, and collecting fees. Participates in the location's shared responsibilities, including desk set up, bookdrop, delivery, shelf reading, ILS reports, banking, supply orders, and filling interagency requests. Supports and advances the Library's mission of connecting people with the world of ideas and information. Embraces and embodies the Library's core beliefs, strategic priorities, and pillars of excellence. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the principles and practices of library science and public administration. Knowledge of customer interests related to library materials, programs, and services. Knowledge of effective supervisory methods and techniques. Skill in customer service. Ability to work independently and with coworkers in a wide variety of situations with minimal supervision. Ability to use all technology applicable to the essential functions of the job and commonly used by the Library. QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's degree in Library and Information Science or commitment to completing the Community Leadership Certification Program within 24 months is required. Certifications or licensure:
A driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Library's insurance provider are required. Years of relevant experience:

40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. SALARY:
