Position Summary Assist the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations and supervision of all branch staff to ensure high service standards are met. Provide leadership, training and coaching, and work to ensure the credit union's mission is supported. The Assistant Branch Manager supports and oversees daily teller line, new account, and lending operations, acting as the primary point of contact for staff support, workflow coordination, and operational guidance. Key Responsibilities Oversee branch operations and all branch employees. Assist the manager with daily and/or weekly managerial duties such as scheduling, branch opening and closing, break and lunch schedule monitoring, resolving operational and lending issues Assist the Branch Manager in monitoring progress towards strategic goals and objectives. Seek ways to improve operations and productivity. Manage and create department schedules, approve and deny leave time. Actively pursue an understanding of the rules and guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement. Assist the Branch Manager in managing the responsibility for the branch maintenance and operations. Monitor branch activity, cash inventories, and servicing of branch related equipment. Respond to calls for branch alarms, security issues, and branch scheduling. Assist with fraud investigations and fraud communications with members. Ensure member service is being delivered at a high standard while maintaining compliance. Assist in developing procedures that protect the credit union and members' best interests. Mentor and decision situations within established policies and guidelines. Maintain knowledge of processes and regulations affecting member and branch operations. Maintain up to date knowledge of all departments within the Credit Union. Resolve member problems and complaints. Promote products, services and programs to the community to increase overall understanding and familiarity. Provide coaching to find opportunities to drive success and hold staff accountable for results. Create a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork and accountability. Ensure FSRs, MSRs, Team Leaders and Account Specialist are trained and available to support, educate, and assist the membership with the appropriate level of expert financial knowledge Assist employees to ensure efficient and effective delivery of member services Identify training needs and opportunities and assist with training. Develop, train, and evaluate branch staff. Collaborate with other department managers and branches to guarantee consistency. Assist and conduct regular meetings and one-on-one meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with staff. Provide guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives. Ensure that member and employee complaints are addressed properly and report issues to the appropriate level of support Diligently review accounts and loans for accuracy and provide feedback to branch team Open and close accounts when necessary. Initiate, process, close, and maintain consumer loan accounts when necessary. Provide administrative support for IRA and HSA accounts. Proactively volunteer in the community. Maintain good business relationships with current and potential members, and businesses in the communities that we serve. Ensure member needs are met, and professional services are provided. Other duties as assigned Compliance and Regulatory Awareness Serves as first line of defense for branch-level compliance, internal controls, and risk management. Ensures branch readiness for internal audits, regulatory examinations, and operational reviews. Identifies, escalates, and mitigates operational, compliance, and reputational risk. Understand and adhere to credit union regulatory requirements. Participate in periodic compliance and security training as required by the credit union. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and comply with the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Strong background in a customer service role 2+ years of experience in financial services role 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred Strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Requirements Full-time position with standard business hours and Saturday rotation; after-hours support will be required Will be required to travel and support other branches, as needed Requires pushing, pulling, standing and the ability to lift 60 pounds. A consistent, professional, and positive image within the workplace. Effectively and professionally represent the Credit Union in the community. A high degree of confidentiality is required.
