Job Description The Branch Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations, including member services, loans, security, sales and growth initiatives, and branch-level risk management. This role ensures that the branch operates efficiently, meets performance and growth goals, adheres to compliance standards, and delivers excellent service to members. The Branch Manager serves as the primary decision maker and escalation point for the branch and fosters a supportive work environment, while representing the credit union in the community. Key Responsibilities Oversee branch operations and all branch employees. Provide coaching to find opportunities to drive success and hold staff accountable for results. Perform performance appraisals, establish goals, and action plans. Set up performance improvement plans and adhere to the disciplinary actions outlined by the bargaining unit contract. Actively pursues an understanding of the rules and guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement Create a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork and accountability. Monitor progress towards strategic goals and objectives. Seek ways to improve operations and productivity. Ensure branch goals are met Manage and create department schedules, approve and deny leave time. Evaluate the annual branch budget, profitability, and goals. Analyze key performance metrics, identify trends, and areas for improvement. Oversee and assume responsibility for the branch maintenance and operations. Monitor branch activity, cash inventories, and servicing of branch related equipment. Respond to calls for branch alarms, security issues, and branch scheduling. Assist with fraud investigations and communications with members. Ensure member service is being delivered at a high standard while maintaining compliance. Develop policies and procedures that protect the credit union and members' best interests. Oversee current products and procedures. Evaluate current procedures and assist in implementing changes as needed. Ensure established policies and procedures are up to date and followed. Develop, review, and complete branch reports. Develop procedures and reporting tools for effective information to flow through the department. Mentor and decision situations within established policies and guidelines. Maintain knowledge of processes and regulations affecting member and branch operations. Maintain up to date knowledge of all departments within the Credit Union. Pursue cost-saving measures for the branch. Provide input and recommendations for member products and services. Maintain branch safety and security, addressing potential risks proactively. Resolve member problems and complaints. Identify training needs and opportunities. Develop and implement a plan for meeting those needs. Nurture employee development and maintain well-trained staff. Assist and conduct regular meetings and one-on-one meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with staff. Provide guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives. Resolve staff issues and complaints. Develop and implement a branch staffing plan to meet member service needs. Coaches, develops, trains, and evaluates branch staff. Collaborate with other department managers and branches to guarantee consistency. Promote products and programs to the community to increase overall understanding of and familiarity with products. Conduct visits, participate and volunteer in community events. Develop and maintain good business relationships with current and potential members, and businesses in the communities that we serve. Ensure member needs are met, and professional services are provided. Support and participate in marketing and promotion efforts to prospective members. Acts as the branch's primary community and brand representative, supporting outreach and business development efforts. Open and close accounts when necessary. Initiate, process, close, and maintain consumer loan accounts when necessary. Provide administrative support for IRA and HSA accounts. Accountable for overall branch performance, including member experience, sales results, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes. Uses key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive staffing, scheduling, productivity, and corrective actions. Serves as final decision authority at the branch within established polices. Other duties as assigned. Compliance and Regulatory Awareness Understand and adhere to credit union regulatory requirements. Participate in periodic compliance and security training as required by the credit union. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and comply with the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act. Serves as first line of defense for branch-level compliance, internal controls, and risk management. Ensures branch readiness for internal audits, regulatory examinations, and operational reviews. Identifies, escalates, and mitigates operational, compliance, and reputational risk. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred Strong background in a customer service support role 3+ years of financial services experience 2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience Strong knowledge of credit union operations, lending products and compliance preferred Strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Requirements Full-time position with standard business hours and Saturday rotation; after-hours support will be required Will be required to travel to other branches, as needed Require pushing, pulling, standing and the ability to lift 60 pounds A consistent, professional, and positive image within the workplace. Effectively and professionally represents the Credit Union in the community. A high degree of confidentiality is required Attend meetings and training as required
