Houston, TX Job Details Full-time 7 hours ago Qualifications Fabrication Supervising experience Packaging Full Job Description Job purpose Responsible for the overall supervisory and administrative management of WPI's Gasmer Fabrication facility, providing direct leadership to Shop Personnel, the Project Management team, and the Procurement group. This role includes developing and maintaining accurate fabrication schedules, managing project slotting, overseeing departmental and facility budgets, tracking P&L performance, and ensuring compliance with all safety standards. The position serves as a key liaison between the fabrication facility and Engineering, Sales, and Executive Management, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and is responsible for regularly communicating production status, performance metrics, and compliance updates to Executive Management. Duties and responsibilities Lead and oversee daily operations of the Gasmer Fabrication facility, ensuring efficient, high-quality, and safe production. Supervise and provide direction to Shop Personnel, Project Management, and Procurement teams. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve fabrication schedules and project slotting to meet delivery commitments. Monitor and manage departmental and facility budgets, including P&L performance and cost control initiatives. Read, interpret, and ensure construction aligns with engineering drawings, specifications, and design requirements. Ensure full compliance with packaging standards established by Waukesha, engine manufacturers, and alternator manufacturers. Oversee power generation package assembly processes and support troubleshooting of fabrication and assembly issues. Accept accountability for the quality of all fabrication work and ensure adherence to company and customer standards. Ensure completion and accuracy of WPI Inspection Reports for all fabrication projects. Supervise receipt and verification of materials against Purchase Orders and Bills of Materials (BOM), coordinating with Project Engineers, Buyers, and leadership to resolve discrepancies. Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, and other departments to align production with business objectives. Serve as the primary liaison between the fabrication facility and Executive Management. Prepare and deliver regular reports on production status, key performance metrics, and operational risks. Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and resource optimization. Support workforce planning, staffing decisions, and performance management for facility teams Qualifications 10+ years of packaging fabrication experience required; power generation packaging experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and leading teams in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Experience managing departmental or facility-level P&L, including budgeting, cost control, and financial performance. Strong technical and operational understanding of power generation equipment and fabrication processes. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships. Working knowledge of departmental or facility-level P&L responsibility and financial accountability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to apply logical and creative thinking to develop solutions based on specifications and operational needs. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions, including recognizing when to escalate issues. Effective presentation skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly to management, clients, and cross-functional teams. Ability to consistently apply company policies and procedures in a fair, timely, and objective manner. Proven leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, motivate, and evaluate team members. Strong attention to detail, including the ability to resolve discrepancies related to part numbers, quantities, and materials.
