Accounts Payable Officer - Shape Your Next Career Move Wangaratta, VIC | Temporary Part Time (21 hours per week until October 2026) | $35.43 per hour + super Step into a role where accuracy, service, and teamwork truly matter. The Rural City of Wangaratta is looking for a proactive Accounts Payable Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys keeping financial operations running smoothly. What You'll be doing Process accounts payable accurately and on time, including weekly payment and cheque runs. Maintain supplier records and ensure compliance with financial controls and audit requirements. Respond promptly to creditor and internal enquiries, and follow up overdue accounts. Provide training and support to staff on accounts payable processes. Contribute to continuous improvement by documenting procedures, mapping processes, and supporting cross-training. Prepare journal entries and maintain the integrity of the general ledger from an accounts payable perspective, including creditor reconciliations. What You'll Bring Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, ideally in a high-volume environment. Strong reconciliation skills and the ability to review creditor statements and invoices with accuracy. Excellent customer service, with clear and confident written and verbal communication. Strong time management, organisation, and the ability to work within established procedures. Solid digital capability, including Microsoft Office and corporate finance systems (TechOne experience a bonus). Initiative, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative approach to team success. Relevant post-secondary qualifications in Business Administration, Financial Services or similar (advantageous). Why Work for
