Job Description
The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist Senior is responsible for executing critical tasks within the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial transactions. This role requires extensive full-cycle accounts payable experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal departments and external vendors. The Senior AP Specialist will play a key role in optimizing AP processes, resolving complex payment-related issues, and supporting financial integrity and operational excellence within the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide support for month-end close processes and projects. Ensure efficient operation and compliance with policies, healthcare industry regulations (i.e., HIPAA), and internal controls. Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to contribute to a positive work environment. Analyze exceptions and resolve internal/external stakeholder concerns. Utilize Excel and technology tools effectively to manage spreadsheets, financial software, and automation processes. Apply basic accounting knowledge to maintain accurate financial records. Adapt to process changes, system upgrades, and evolving business needs with a willingness to learn. Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive financial information with professionalism and ethical responsibility. Manage time effectively to balance daily responsibilities, meet deadlines, and maintain efficiency.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Experience 3+ years of AP experience or related field is required. Healthcare experience is preferred. Infor/Lawson or other large ERP Systems. Previous ServiceNow exposure is a plus.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Business, Finance, or Accounting degree preferred.
