  • 24 per hour Birmingham, AL Our established Birmingham-area partner is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong bookkeeping experience, advanced QuickBooks knowledge, and a solid understanding of GAAP principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations Perform monthly bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting activities Ensure compliance with GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping principles Assist with payroll processing and payroll tax reporting Support tax preparation and compliance requirements Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audit readiness Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and reports Analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to manage financial information accurately
Qualifications:
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience required 5+ years of QuickBooks experience required 2+ years of Microsoft Excel experience required Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and account analysis Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax requirements Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work onsite in Birmingham, AL PangeaTwo's goal is to ensure that each recruitment opportunity yields rewarding dividends for both candidates and clients.
