Position Summary The Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk is responsible for managing the company's outgoing payments, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time. This role requires hands-on experience with QuickBooks, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely entry into QuickBooks Review and reconcile vendor statements; resolve discrepancies and payment issues Prepare and process check runs, ACH, and other electronic payments Maintain organized and up-to-date records and documentation Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, or inquiries Assist with month-end closing, including account reconciliations and accruals Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles Support audits by providing required AP documentation and reports Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice or purchase order issues Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred 1-3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experienceRequired:
Experience using QuickBooks (Desktop preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills Experience with high-volume invoice processing Knowledge of basic accounting principles Experience with expense management systems or ERP systems Ability to work independently and as part of a teamSimilar jobs in Madison, AL
