Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Opelika, Alabama. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with high-volume operations. You will play a key role in managing accounts receivable processes and supporting the financial reporting team.
Responsibilities:
+ Respond to incoming calls from retail customers, providing support for billing questions, account reconciliation, and general information requests. + Make outbound calls to customers with overdue balances to collect outstanding payments. + Maintain thorough records of all customer communications. + Offer assistance to internal staff (including sales team members) in processing electronic invoices, addressing technical problems, making necessary corrections, and collaborating with IT for resolution. + Distribute monthly billing statements to customers by mail. + Create and update customer profiles within the system. + Review and reconcile customer accounts, including preparing monthly Excel account reconciliations for larger retail accounts. + Partner with management to address and resolve invoicing discrepancies. + Support the processing of daily customer deposits. + Perform additional tasks as delegated by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. Requirements- Proven experience in accounts receivable, including billing and collections.
- Comfortable working with high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with ERP software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
