Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire An opportunity is available for an acute care pharmacist to support a 336-bed pediatric hospital, the only Level 1 pediatric trauma center in Arkansas. This direct hire position presents an excellent opportunity to develop critical skills in a leading healthcare environment.
Location:
Jacksonville, Arkansas Schedule:
7 days on, 7 days off rotation Thursday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Flexible scheduling available to meet candidate needs
Key Responsibilities:
Verify appropriateness of pediatric medication doses based on diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area Identify and intervene in drug therapy problems, including allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions Evaluate and initiate drug therapy, including cost-effective alternatives and non-formulary requests Ensure accuracy of medication preparation, labeling, and administration Monitor patient outcomes and provide professional recommendations to healthcare providers Participate in education of patients, pharmacy staff, and students Conduct drug information activities and assist in drug utilization review Manage medication orders with wholesalers and manufacturers, coordinate loan/borrow processes, recalls, and inventory Communicate effectively with pharmacy management regarding supply issues
Qualifications:
Licensed pharmacist in Arkansas or willingness to obtain licensure Experience in inpatient or acute care pharmacy preferred Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) credential is a plus Willingness to work night shifts as scheduled
