Certified Job Goal To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating the district curriculum standards and objectives into meaningful learning experiences through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments. Online Instructors are required to provide evening and weekend support to students in the form of telephone calls, emails, response to submitted assignments within online courses, and virtual tutoring. About 50% of the Online Instructor responsibilities described below will be completed remotely with the exception of training/staff meetings, and about 50% will be daily in-person responsibilities Monday-Friday including nights to 7:00 PM. In-person schedule is fluid and determined by course completion schedules. Example shifts could include, 9:00 am
  • 3:00 pm and 12:30 pm
  • 7:00 pm. All staff must be available 7:00 am
  • 7:00 pm.
Online Instructors must have a home computer with speakers/audio capability and high speed internet access. Most home computers meet basic system requirements for our software but you may visit http://www.cusd80.com/page/27923 for more detailed requirements. Minimum Qualifications AZ Teaching Certificate AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Appropriately certified in appropriate area Moderate computer proficiency and experience with the following software and applications: Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Google applications, Agilix-BUZZ learning management system, synchronous learning environment (virtual conferencing), Infinite Campus
  • Messenger Basic trouble-shooting and technical support for remote users Core Job Functions Communicates learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the student population including curriculum that addresses learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems and student with special needs Ensure learning experiences correlate with approved curriculum and State and District standards Use available technology to enhance learning Use district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs Provide instruction for up to 200 students Proctor finals and assessments Tutoring provided in person and virtual Grade assignments within 48 hours Strict adherence to school policies and procedures including late work, cheating, plagiarism and permanent zero Establish positive rapport and connection with students through regular communication in email, phone calls, assignment feedback, and virtual video conferencing Facilitate instruction based on current research-based best practices Effectively implement Individual Education Plans Establish classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction Participate in team reviews concerning academic progress of low performing students Document and resolve issues related to student behavior problems and attendance Reflect on teaching and strive to improve professional competence Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities Maintain accurate, complete, legible and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation Provide intervention strategies for struggling students Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings and parent conferences Participate in school and District initiatives Assume individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision or other planning and professional assignments Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the District or school site Core Values/Professional Qualities Promote positive interactions with colleagues Promote positive interactions with students and parents Be responsible, reliable and punctual Be flexible and adaptable to change Positively accept direction Direct constructive criticism toward improving the district Exercise positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills Adhere to the dress code appropriate to the site and job Share sensitive student and staff information on a need to know basis Be a positive role model for students Adhere to District and school rules and procedures Physical Requirements Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, fingering, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Employees may be subject to travel, body fluids, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and intense noise. Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
