Set up new users in the credit card processing system. Receive, review, and process credit card, check, and cash payments received via U.S. mail, or internal mail for deposit. Create deposit batches for processing, balancing transactions, and verifying totals. Sort and batch incoming payment correspondence, compile check copies with documentation and transmit to payment posting. Research unidentified payments and determine if they belong to another Spooner department Research transactions for FIT services and post to general ledger. Retrieve all online banking activity daily, create daily deposit journals and reports for further processing by Accounting and Revenue Cycle Management. Balance transactions and verify total and ensure that all payment batches reconcile to the bank total on an individual basis. Post to daily cash log and general ledger. Process patient and insurance refunds on a bi-weekly basis. Process all accounts payable transactions for clinical supply purchases. Participate in and promote educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of job functions, industry changes, regulatory standards, and skill development. Adhere to all information security guidelines. Meet regularly with Controller and Accounting Team to review, analyze, and develop individual and team goals and expectations. Adhere to all HIPPAA standards. Maintain a secure and safe working environment in accordance with OSHA regulations, as well as Spooner's Safety Manual. Demonstrate reliable presence and active participation in scheduled meetings. What You Can Expect A team environment that fosters continuous learning and fun. A 6-month onboarding program What You Bring to the Role Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum 2 years of college coursework in business/accounting and 2 years of experience in banking or payment/accounts receivable processing required Experience with accounting software preferred Computer proficiency to include various accounting programs. Detail and customer-service oriented. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
