Accounting Typing Full Job Description Purpose:
The Accounting Clerk will efficiently manage the accounts payable process through timely and accurate payment processing of invoices as well as reconciling daily sales and managing deposits.
Reporting to:
Accounting Office Manager Responsibilities:
Receive, review and process invoices following Accounting Department procedures and company policies with promptly addressing discrepancies or issues with vendors
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers through use of Accounting systems
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and internal departments/stakeholders to resolve invoice/billing issues
  • Ensure accurate import of store level point of sale (POS) data into MS Excel Spreadsheet
  • Record miscellaneous office deposits according to internal guidelines and time deadlines
  • Follow and maintain secure cash handling procedures following internal accounting controls maintaining checks and balances
  • Coordinate with armored car vendor/service to ensure secure and timely transport of cash bank deposits
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Accounting Office Manager for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual activities and projects including maintenance of accounting documents and company records
  • Perform other tasks and projects, as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Bookkeeping courses, a plus

Experience:
Entry level to intermediate experience with MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Prior experience working in a retail environment 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferred
Knowledge/skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail with accurate data entry and data review Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work collaboratively within Accounting department and other departments Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to adapt with a willingness to learn and execute accounting principles and industry best practices
