Accounting Full Job Description Job Title:
Accounts Payable Specialist (Sage 300 Preferred) Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments. Experience with Sage 300 (formerly ACCPAC) is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently. Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents. Review and verify invoices for proper approvals and coding. Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and payment information. Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations. Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. Support audits by providing requested documentation and reports.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 5+ years of accounts payable experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience using Sage 300 Experience in construction, manufacturing, distribution, or a similar industry. Knowledge of multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments. Familiarity with electronic invoice processing systems. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and customer service skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Able to file. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills.
