Job Description

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
(TEMP TO HIRE)
SCHEDULE
7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (MON - FRI)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable (AP): Enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system. Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and payments. Review invoices for correct amounts, dates, approvals, and coding. Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments. Manage biweekly and ad hoc check runs. Send remittance notifications after payments are released. Scan, organize, and maintain AP invoice records and supporting documents. Follow up on missing invoices, receipts, or approvals as needed. Accounts Receivable (AR): Post daily cash receipts accurately and timely. Generate and send customer invoices based on shipping documentation. Request and follow up on remittance details for customer payments. Perform daily billing and cash posting updates and communicate status to management. Assist with customer account inquiries and payment follow-up.
General Accounting:
Review and process employee expense reports and verify supporting documentation. Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and month-end support.
Other:
Assist with special projects and other assignments as directed by management. Support continuous improvement of accounting procedures and workflow efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Accounting, Finance, or related experience preferred. Basic knowledge of AP, AR, and accounting procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems preferred. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
PREFERRED
Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business. Experience with ERP system. Working experience in a manufacturing environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. Some of the work may be performed in a plant environment where it may be loud and the temperature may vary and be higher or lower than a normal indoor temperature. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position may require the ability to occasionally lift, push and pull up to 10 pounds.
