Job Description
Family Practice office in Brea has an immediate opening for an
EXPERIENCED
medical biller/coder.RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to:- Review and bill current claims within timely filing limits.
- Understanding of CPT and ICD 10-coding systems.
- Review medical record documentation to identify all services provided by physicians.
- Post both insurance and patient payments.
- Actively work denied or delinquent accounts to maximize collections. This includes but is not limited to; searching for lacking insurance information, rebilling claims to insurance carriers, billing patients, filing appeals and provider disputes.
- Respond to patient inquiries.
- Follow up on open claims
- Help with heavy phones during peak hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- To qualify for this position, you must have at least three years of prior experience with coding and billing. Experience with family practice or internal medicine billing is preferred.
- Knowledge of HMOs, PPOs, Medi-Cal, and Medicare.
- expert at claim followup and appeals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Medical Billing Software EHR .
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- The ideal candidate will have completed their certification in billing and or/coding.
- Applicant should be extremely focused, honest, motivated and energetic.
