Culver City, CA Job Details $31.25 - $38.47 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Accounts receivable management Professional ethics Quality data entry Full Job Description Position Summary The Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist is responsible for managing the organization's daily accounting transactions, ensuring accurate processing of receivables and payables, maintaining financial records, and supporting compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. This role works closely with Director of Accounting and Finance, donors, vendors, and the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial operations. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Process and record donor contributions, grants, membership dues, and other revenue. Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts. Reconcile accounts receivable balances and investigate discrepancies. Maintain accurate donor and customer records. Assist with grant billing and reimbursement requests. Accounts Payable Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements. Ensure proper coding of expenses in accordance with nonprofit accounting and grant requirements. Prepare and process payments via check Maintain vendor files and IRS compliance documentation, including W-9s and 1099 reporting. Reconcile accounts payable balances and resolve payment discrepancies. Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely vendor payments. Nonprofit Accounting Support Assist with grant tracking and restricted fund accounting. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting principles, donor restrictions, and grant requirements. Assist with annual audits and preparation of audit documentation. Maintain internal controls and financial policies. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting. Experience working in a nonprofit organization preferred. Knowledge of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and grant reporting. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
