Job Description

Overview Join our automotive team as a Cashier/ Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk, where you'll play a role in managing financial transactions and ensuring smooth operational flow. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, supporting both customer service and financial accuracy. You will be responsible for processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with various accounting functions to uphold the integrity of our financial operations. Duties Process customer payments and vehicle sales transactions accurately using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero. Manage accounts payable by verifying invoices, preparing check runs, and ensuring timely vendor payments in compliance with company policies. Reconcile accounts receivable and payable ledgers regularly to maintain precise financial records. Perform data entry tasks including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet adjustments, with high attention to detail. Support payroll management activities using systems like ADP, UltiPro, or Workday, ensuring accurate employee compensation processing. Assist with general ledger accounting tasks, including double entry bookkeeping and month-end closing procedures aligned with GAAP standards. Maintain thorough documentation of all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and governmental regulations. Experience Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms is highly preferred. Strong understanding of payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro and experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes. Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with tax-related accounting tasks is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately with proficiency in 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping techniques. Background in public accounting or non-profit accounting is advantageous for understanding diverse financial frameworks. Excellent math skills combined with financial acumen to analyze account discrepancies and support budgeting efforts.
