The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our financial processes and requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and practices. HR experience is a plus, especially with tracking holiday, PTO, and sick leave. This is a full-time position that will require 90 days of probation. Responsibilities Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting. Perform bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of bank statements and internal records. Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Utilize financial software, including Quicken, to manage financial data effectively. Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing relevant financial information. Ensure compliance with corporate accounting standards and governmental accounting regulations. Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required. Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry and record keeping. Requirements Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role. Proficiency in financial software, particularly Sage Peachtree Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices. Experience with bank reconciliation processes. Familiarity with corporate accounting standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload. Basic understanding of financial concepts is essential.
