In a fast-paced and challenging environment, this role requires initiative, strong attention to detail, professionalism, resourcefulness, and the ability to multi-task. MEA Forensic is an equal opportunity employer. The position is onsite, in our Orange County, California office. The annual salary is $50,000 to $62,000 depending on skill and experience. We contribute $1000 per month towards healthcare plan premiums (medical, dental, vision) and offer a safe harbor 401(k) plan. Starting vacation is 3 weeks (accrued annually) and we observe 12 paid holidays per year.
Role and Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Invoicing Management:
Generate, review, issue final invoices and process credit memos.
Collections & Follow-Up:
Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up with law firms, insurance carriers, and corporate clients regarding outstanding payments.
Payment Processing:
Accurately apply incoming checks, ACH transfers, and credit card payments to the correct client case files and code to appropriate general ledger accounts.
Retainers:
Process retainers and retainer refunds and inform Project Coordinators.
Client Liaison:
Resolve billing inquiries from legal and insurance professionals. Communication & Teamwork Communicate with Project Coordinators, Engineers and management to ensure billing accuracy and proper client communications. Coordinate with the Accounting Team for all month and year end requirements. General administration Handle incoming inquiries, couriers, logging of checks, and other duties, as required. Prepare and post journal entries. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and general ledger accounts. Assist with reviewing and correcting time entries. Assist with intercompany transfers and related reconciliations. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience working in an administrative role. Strong oral and written English. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online research. Typing and data entry skills. Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is highly preferred. 2+ years of bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience, ideally working within legal services, engineering consulting, insurance, or a billable-hour professional environment.
