Job Title Part-Time Bookkeeper & Office Administrator Job Type Part-time (W2) Direct Hire Approximately 10-20 hours per week depending on workload and seasonality Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation Estimated compensation:
$35 - $45 / per hour Compensation dependent on experience, bookkeeping expertise, payroll knowledge, and ability to independently manage office responsibilities. Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Part-Time Bookkeeper & Office Administrator to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of a well-established roofing company. This individual will wear multiple hats and play an important role in helping maintain smooth office operations. Responsibilities will include bookkeeping, payroll processing, payroll tax payments, vendor payment coordination, employee file maintenance, and general office administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal oversight. Construction industry experience is helpful but not required. Prevailing wage payroll experience is preferred; however, training can be provided for the right candidate. Why Join Join a respected family-owned company with over 75 years of history and community reputation Flexible part-time schedule with growth potential during busy seasons Opportunity to work directly with company leadership in a collaborative environment Stable long-term opportunity with an established construction business Supportive onboarding period before peak operational months Responsibilities and Duties Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks Process weekly payroll and prepare payroll summary reports for management review Assist with payroll tax payments and payroll-related administration Support prevailing wage payroll processing for qualifying projects (training available) Coordinate vendor payments and maintain organized financial records Maintain employee files and assist with limited HR-related tasks Handle unemployment claims and occasional payroll loan processing Support general office administration and operational coordination Utilize Microsoft Office and cloud-based business systems for documentation and reporting Assist with maintaining organized office workflows and administrative processes Communicate professionally with internal staff, vendors, and service providers as needed Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required Strong bookkeeping and payroll experience required Proficiency with QuickBooks required Experience with Microsoft Office applications required Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced small-business environment Professional communication and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information Prevailing wage payroll experience preferred but not required Education / Professional Experience Previous bookkeeping, accounting support, payroll, or office administration experience required Experience supporting construction, roofing, or contractor businesses is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required Additional bookkeeping or accounting training/certifications are a plus Additional Information This is an onsite role located in Marina, California Hours may fluctuate depending on office workload and project activity Training can be provided for prevailing wage payroll processes Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US.
