Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR / Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance and human resources team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage core accounting functions while supporting human resources processes, ensuring accurate financial transactions, compliance with regulatory standards, and smooth HR operations. The ideal candidate will be energetic, proactive, and possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, payroll management, and HR systems. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of our financial workflows and employee experience. Duties Process and verify accounts payable transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and perform general ledger reconciliations to maintain financial integrity in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Prepare journal entries related to payroll, benefits administration, and other financial activities, adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards Manage employee data entry within HRIS systems like ADP, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft, ensuring data accuracy for payroll and benefits processing Oversee payroll management tasks including processing timesheets via Kronos or Ceridian, calculating debits & credits, and ensuring proper deductions Conduct account reconciliation activities for accounts receivable and payable, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and compliant with internal controls Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting procedures as needed, supporting audit readiness through meticulous recordkeeping and analysis skills Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with familiarity in double entry bookkeeping and technical accounting practices Strong knowledge of financial concepts including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, and analysis skills Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, or similar platforms; familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro is highly desirable Understanding of HRIS systems including benefits administration processes and payroll management tools such as Kronos or Ceridian Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and GAAP standards to ensure internal control adherence Excellent data entry skills with 10 key typing proficiency; strong attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Join us to be part of a vibrant team committed to operational excellence!
