Candidates should live within a commutable distance to the Pleasant Hill office. This is an in-office position (not hybrid).

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for data entry of daily accounting activity of SONC's headquarters office and field areas.

Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:

Process invoices through Accounts Payable (AP) and issue payments to vendors and employees. Assist with processing office cash receipts and prepare bank deposits. Perform accounting data entry as assigned. Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts as assigned. Reconcile bank accounts as assigned. Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization. Provide accounting support/training to designated field programs. Monitor field compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Assist with annual audit preparation. Identify and provide solutions for accounting irregularities. File documents for efficient retrieval. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, & Experiences:

2 years of college-level accounting courses or minimum of 2 years accounting experience or combination of both education and experience. Demonstrated proficiency in the following skills & abilities: Strong organizational skills, ability to maintain accurate records. Verbal and written communication skills. Beginner to intermediate experience with web-based accounting platforms & expense management platforms. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines.

Highly Desired:

Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT. Experience with Concur Expense and Concur Invoice. SONC offers an inclusive, casual work environment.
